"LEXI! What ARE you doing?" Sam grunted as he managed to heave at least half of himself over the sharp edge of the mysterious forest tower.

It had been a tiring day...after a tiring night and he was definitely beginning to feel the blunt end of that nagging little insistance of his various limbs that he should be resting, not climbing insane towers for goodness knows what reasons.

There was a moment when Lexi turned around, shock playing across her face. She'd been so intent on what she'd been doing that she hadn't even heard him arriving. Then, seemingly in slow motion, Sam's foot slipped off the half-beam he was trying to stand on. His fingers clawed at the unforgiving metal platings and then he dissappeared from view, the last sight of him, a couple of fingers sliding off the last of the rivetbound sheets.
