This is a mess. I didn't realize until I finished the image just how low a resolution I was working at so it's pretty blaargh - despite having a gorgous reference to look at


The young mare snorted. Her handler was trying to make her back up - and she wouldn't have any of it. The arena was filled with a large number of other horses and humans, all milling about in an organized kind of chaos.
She shifted her weight nervously, trying to watch everything at the same time and chewing at the bit to the showbridle that had been put on her. It wasn't hers...and the piece of metal in her mouth was tasting bad.
Tethys could be a spirited young mare, but not without taking some notice of her handler, she just liked testing the limits - not to mention she could get rather distracted, especially if something got her curiousity up.
At the moment, her ears were starting to fold backwards, one of her rear legs pulling up, as if trying to gauge the moment before kicking.
Despairing to get the Unicorn mare to behave, the official handler rolled their eyes, trying to rein her in. And her owner had said she was easy to handle - the man huffed....yeah...right...

Originally Sam was supposed to have taken Tethys to this show, but something came up that required all hands present in the Valley - so an unamned, drafted in, official is taking her through her paces
