The Masquerade was already in full swing. Almost all the owners that were visiting the show were here. In addition, a large number of their stablehands and friends were attending as well.

The Ballroom, it's lighting reduced to the bare minimum was dark and inviting, the perfect spot for some unofficial encounters.

Mae looked about, her head not moving an inch, trying to take in the surroundings, the mood, the people, everything.
She felt safe behind her mask, safe to do all those things that she'd never do.

But she never got the time to figure out just what those were. A commotion further in the room caught her eye and a second later it was all she could do not to double over laughing. Any other time and Mae would have slumped to the floor, thumping the nearest piece of furniture with her fist in a mad gale of laughter - tears streaming from her eyes.

Instead she had to settle for letting a tiny smirk play around her lips. Whatever else you could say, miss T certainly seemed to know how to have fun.

The owner of DIS didn't normally care for these social encounters, but the evening was definately looking up. She'd been telling Sam he needed to let his hair down a bit, so to speak. He was going to give her hell for making him attend this, but this alone was SO worth it. Of course, Sam probably wouldn't agree.
