News

Winner of the uniorn race is the stallion Isohem from Ethereal Meadows. Ridden by Billy, he ran in 1.44 hours and 4 seconds.

Only a few minutes later, running in 1.55 hours and 4 seconds, Chime from Royal Dauphin Ranch, ridden by Paloma, thundered across the finish line.

To our surprise, third place was head to head between Silverlance and Macbeth, each horse fighting to the very end to pull ahead. But Isohem's stable-mate, Silverlance, crossed the finish line just 2 seconds ahead of the competition, at 2.04 hours and 7 seconds and snatched the third place.

Please see the racing field for further placements.

PRIZES:

There is a section towards the bottom of the journal with all the prizes which will be awarded.
I'll try and get started on them this weekend, but as work is currently running at around 200% and I don't even get home until after 7PM, please bear with me while I finish them.
Edit!

The show is now closed. Hopefully the results should be up in a few hours

Edit
Ok, because I'm probably going to be very late from work, and to make sure we run this until past the 15th for everyone any late entries have about 20 hours left to enter the race before I'll actually be home and start the clock (read random number generator) for the races and classes DEADLINE EXTENDED!!!
We have moved the deadline to 15th of September to give everyone a chance of getting their entries in on time

Some rules and info for the qualifiers and championshipAll art must be created specifically for that event, no using old pictures
All horses should be correctly outfitted for the class (For in-hand classes a show bridle should be used for 3 years and over, a rope halter for weanling-3 year and a foal slip for 0-weaning (foal at foot, harness should be full harness with the horse being driven from the ground).
Handlers/riders should be included in all pictures, even if theyre just a silhouette.
Horses can only qualify once for any class, if you come first or second in the same class in two qualifiers the invite will pass down the line in the later show.
If you qualify for the championship you will need to draw a new picture for the class, this can be done at any time before the 23rd of December. Judging will take place on the 24th of December and result should be up on either the 25th or 26th of December.
If you qualify and find you will be unable to show in the championship please let Robyn know (*
[link]) as soon as possible.
Horses can compete in more than one class, but if your horse has not been trained in that discipline you will be penalised (for example a dressage horse competing in a showing class or reining class). A training pic will lift the penalty for this.
It would be good if organisers of qualifier shows/class could note me when the show is done so that I can get the entries for the championship show from the results page, thanks.

UNICORN RACES
To celebrate all those wonderful horned equines out there, Darklight Stables is holding its very first meet, The Unicorn races.
Wed like to invite you all to take part in this special event. A simple gathering to witness the power and majesty of the unicorns, bicorns, and all other horned equines in our world.
This race isnt held on a racetrack, but the field will run from start to finish across part of the valley floor. The section its held on mostly consists of flat grasslands, some rolling hills and will take you across at least one shallow stream. You could see it as a combination of a ordinary race and an endurance run. We like to see how the horses behave and compete in as close to a natural environment as possible.
Because of the nature of the race, youre free to use any style of tack that you think will work best with your horse. The same goes for the rider. And of course, you can enter with the horned equine of your choice though if enough interest arises, the field might be split into sections.
The race itself will consist of a number of heats, the winners of each heat then competing against eachother (no new picture required)
Entry requirements:
* No training required
* This race is open to all HARPG breeds and builds with a minimum of one horn on the head.
* Full body picture with rider, tack and background suitable for the race
* If you enter more than one horse, you will need a different rider for each horse.

Judging MethodWe'll be using the same style of determining the winners that was used so successfully by
Becuase of the method of using random number generators to calculate the results, this should be completely random.
A great thanks to Life for introducing me to this method of judgement
